Morning Scribbler – Red Shoe

Morning Scribbler – February 21, 2020 – Red Shoe – Link To Video

Time: 9 minutes

My contour sketches are often done more quickly than the sketch of my red shoe. I awoke with a bit of a headache and found it difficult to coordinate my eye and hand as easily as I normally do. This was an opportunity to slow down and move my pencil and eye very slowly, being more observant of the angles of the shoe and laces. My goal when I do contour drawings is not to replicate but to observe.
